Double OT Thriller

The romans went into the the first of 2 back to back wkd games with Francis Parker looking to bounce back after the glenbrook team.

However the romans started very sluggish and parker dominated the 1Q, except for some fine goal keeping from Joey Fineberg, parker could have very well been up by multiple goals.

The team cam out in 2Q with more energy and started to match Parker with their intensity, however in this very tight contest the game went into the half at nil-nil (my British roots still exist!)

The 3Q started with better offensive plays from the romans, however Parker scored with a breakaway goal as the romans were caught high up the field.

With the 4Q, the romans made some shuffles to the personnel and formation and they got their deserved breakthrough with 3 mins left in the game when freshman Caroline Gaines, cross took a kid deflection to Senior Ellie O'Shea who made no mistake and finished! You could hear the celebrations all the way at 59 N Avenue.

The game headed into OT, as parker started to tire, the romans came more and more into the game and had multiple penalty corners but could not find the target. Then in the 2nd period of OT, the romans finally made a penalty corner work, when senior Ellie O'Shea returned the favor to Caroline Gaines and a reverse stick pass for Caroline finish with such composure for a freshman!

Lets hope everyone's heart rates calm down before the repeat next Saturday! Before then we have a vert important games this week against a very strong Loyola team and a pesky LFA team as the Romans stay in the hunt for the ISL title.
