Comfortable Victory for the Romans

The romans went into the game against Naperville North after securing their first win of the season last week and came out strong on the offense immediately.

There was plenty of chances, however the romans could not get the finish required until the last 10 seconds of the game, when Maddie Gaines made a run into the circle and played a lovely ball to Kaya Bhandari to sweep the romans in front.

The 2Q was the same roman pressure, however they were thankful to Joey Fineberg for a few crucial breakaway saves. As the romans put the high court press on it resulted in a lovely individual goal from from Abby Krasaeath with a reverse stick flick after picking up the loose ball on the 25.

With time running out in 2Q, the romans received a penalty corner from which Zoe Larsen finished a shot from Ellie O'Shea to make it 3-0 at the half.

The romans had plenty of chances in the 2nd half but as in the first found the Naperville GK in fine form until midway through the 4Q, when a fine move by Caroline Gaines, released the ball to Kaya Bhandari for another clinical finish.

With the win under the belt and moving back to .500 for the season, Romans now have to brace themselves for a tough game on Saturday against St. Ignatius, which will definitely be a physical match up!
